Above, Below, and Beyond the Sea

Athena Foggity is a bluestocking debutante sailing from India to England to participate in her first London season. Mr. Ezra T. Downes, Esquire, is a scientist who spent the last year in India studying ants, of all things. When Athena sees the infamous ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman, and Mr. Downes laughs at her claim, Athena decides to use Aristotle’s principles of persuasion against the handsome, but infuriating, man.  Can she sway him from his scientific work long enough for him to see the specter too?

( have a short story, "Swaying the Scientist," in this 2024 ANWA Anthology.)
